Power of Attorney & Notary Services
Powers of attorney for property and personal care, notary public services and notarized child travel consent letters.
A power of attorney lets someone you trust make decisions for you if you become unable to. In Ontario there are two kinds: a Continuing Power of Attorney for Property, covering your finances and assets, and a Power of Attorney for Personal Care, covering health care, housing and daily-living decisions.
Our office also provides notary public services for documents used in Canada and abroad, including child travel consent letters — recommended by the Government of Canada whenever a child travels without both parents.

Frequently asked questions
What do I need to bring for a child travel consent letter?
Valid government photo ID for each consenting parent or guardian, the child’s passport or birth certificate details, and the travel details — destination, dates and the name of the accompanying adult. We will prepare the letter and notarize your signature.
What should I bring to have a document notarized?
The original document (unsigned, if it must be signed in front of a notary) and valid government-issued photo ID. Please call ahead for multi-page or foreign-language documents.
Does a power of attorney need to be notarized?
In Ontario it must be signed in front of two qualified witnesses. Notarization is not required for use in Ontario, but may be requested by banks or for use outside the province.
